Frequently Asked Questions

How do I automatically sort clips by camera in DaVinci Resolve?

Download Sort Media Pool, install the script to your DaVinci Resolve Scripts folder, then go to Workspace → Scripts → DrRave → Sort_Media_Pool. It scans your Media Pool and creates a bin for each detected camera automatically — no manual sorting needed.

Which versions of DaVinci Resolve does it support?

Sort Media Pool works with DaVinci Resolve Studio 17, 18, 19, and 20 on both Mac and Windows.

Does it work with the free version of DaVinci Resolve?

No — DaVinci Resolve Studio (paid) is required for external scripting.

Will it move my existing bins?

No. It only creates new bins and moves unorganised clips. Already-organised clips are left untouched.

What if my camera isn't detected?

It lands in an "Unknown" bin. Email support@drrave.com with a sample clip and we'll add detection in the next update.

How do I update when a new version is released?

The script notifies you automatically inside Resolve when an update is available.
